Brunswick Park Carpet Cleaners Terms and Conditions

Carpet cleaning equipment and protective flooring cover in useThese Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Brunswick Park Carpet Cleaners provides carpet and upholstery cleaning services to domestic and commercial customers. By making a booking, you agree that these terms apply to the services requested, unless we agree otherwise in writing. Please read them carefully before confirming any appointment. For the avoidance of doubt, references to “we”, “us” and “our” mean Brunswick Park Carpet Cleaners, and references to “you” or “the customer” mean the person or business requesting the service.

These terms are intended to be fair, practical and consistent with applicable UK law. They are designed to clarify what you can expect from our carpet cleaning services, what we require from you before and during an appointment, how payment is handled, and the limits of our responsibility. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including any rights you may have under consumer protection law.

Cleaner inspecting carpet fibres before treatmentWe may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in law, business operations or service procedures. The version in force at the time of your booking will usually apply to that booking. Where a change is necessary for legal or operational reasons, we may apply updated terms immediately to future bookings. Continued use of our service after any update will be treated as acceptance of the revised terms.

By requesting a quotation or making a booking, you confirm that you have the authority to agree to these terms on behalf of the property owner, landlord, tenant or organisation concerned. You also confirm that the information you provide about the premises, access, flooring, stains and cleaning requirements is accurate to the best of your knowledge. If any detail changes before the appointment, you must tell us as soon as reasonably possible.

The scope of our carpet and rug cleaning services may vary depending on fibre type, soil level, room size, drying expectations and any specialist treatment required. We will always aim to carry out the work with reasonable care and skill. However, because carpets and textiles differ significantly, exact results cannot be guaranteed, particularly where stains are old, fibre damage already exists, or previous cleaning attempts have altered the material.

Professional carpet cleaning process in a domestic roomAll bookings are subject to availability. A booking is only confirmed once we have accepted the request, provided a date or time window, and, where applicable, received any required deposit or prepayment. If we cannot accommodate a requested slot, we may offer an alternative appointment. We reserve the right to refuse a booking where the requested work falls outside our normal service range or where access, safety or legal concerns make attendance unsuitable.

Booking process begins with a request for an estimate or quotation. Any estimate may be based on information you provide, photographs, site details or a survey if necessary. Final prices may change if the actual condition, access or size of the job differs from the initial description. Once you accept the quotation and any required conditions, we will confirm the service appointment and, if relevant, the arrival window. Please ensure someone authorised to grant access is present, or that prior arrangements for entry have been made.

You must provide a safe working environment. This includes reasonable access to the property, electricity, water if required for the service, and enough space to move equipment safely. You should remove small personal items, fragile objects and valuables from the areas to be cleaned unless we have expressly agreed to move them. We are not responsible for delays caused by restricted access, incorrect information, locked doors, parking obstacles or unsafe conditions that prevent us from starting or completing the work.

Where a pre-inspection or assessment is needed, we may recommend certain treatments or advise that a stain, fibre type or backing material presents increased risk. Our carpet cleaners may decline to proceed with a specific method if they consider it could cause damage. If you instruct us to continue against our advice, you accept responsibility for any resulting loss or deterioration to the extent permitted by law. We may also pause or stop work where hidden damage, contamination or structural issues are discovered.

Prices will normally be stated in pounds sterling and may be quoted as a fixed price, per room, per item or based on measured areas. Unless we say otherwise, all quotes are exclusive of any additional charges that arise because of extra work, difficult access, urgent attendance, heavy soiling, specialist stain treatment or unexpected conditions. Any additional sums will be explained where reasonably possible before work continues. Quotations remain valid only for the period stated in the quote or, if no period is given, for a reasonable time.

Payments must be made in accordance with the invoice or payment instructions issued at the time of booking or completion. We may require a deposit, card pre-authorisation or full prepayment for some appointments, especially larger bookings or high-demand periods. Unless stated otherwise, payment is due immediately upon completion of the work. If we issue an invoice after the appointment, payment must be made within the stated term. We may charge interest and reasonable recovery costs on overdue sums in line with applicable UK legislation.

If a payment is reversed, challenged without valid reason, or fails due to insufficient funds, you must settle the outstanding amount promptly together with any reasonable bank or administration charges incurred as a result. We may suspend future services, cancel outstanding appointments or withhold non-essential follow-up work until all sums due are paid in full. Any discounts, promotions or special offers are discretionary and may be withdrawn if the booking is amended or if the original conditions for the offer are not met.

Waste water and cleaning materials handled responsiblyIf you need to cancel or rearrange, please give us as much notice as possible. Cancellations made with sufficient notice may not incur a charge, but late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a fee reflecting lost time, allocated staff and any non-recoverable costs. The exact amount may depend on how much notice is given and whether materials or equipment have already been reserved for your booking.

If we arrive at the property and cannot gain access, or if the site is not ready for cleaning, we may treat the visit as a late cancellation or failed appointment and charge accordingly. Examples include no one being present to provide access, the wrong address being supplied, unsafe conditions, or the customer declining the service on arrival without a valid contractual or legal reason. We will always act reasonably and consider the circumstances, but repeat missed appointments may affect our ability to offer future bookings.

We may cancel or reschedule a booking if necessary due to illness, severe weather, equipment failure, staff unavailability, safety concerns or circumstances outside our control. In such cases, we will use reasonable efforts to offer a new appointment within a practical timeframe. Our liability for cancellation caused by events beyond our reasonable control is limited to refunding any prepaid sum for the affected service, unless the law requires otherwise.

Because carpet cleaning involves moisture, detergents, agitation and extraction equipment, some residual dampness, odour or minor appearance changes may occur during or after treatment. Drying times vary depending on fibre type, ventilation, weather and soiling level. You are responsible for allowing suitable drying time before walking on the surface or replacing furniture, unless we specifically advise otherwise. We cannot accept responsibility for damage caused by re-use of the area before the carpet is adequately dry.

Liability is limited to direct loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our negligence or breach of contract. We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Subject to those legal limits, we are not responsible for indirect loss, loss of profit, loss of enjoyment, loss of business opportunity, or consequential losses arising from the service.

We are not liable for pre-existing defects, hidden damage, weak seams, dye instability, shrinkage caused by prior improper installation, wear and tear, watermarking from previous cleaning, or damage caused by unsuitable materials. While our team uses reasonable care and professional judgment, some fabrics and carpets may react unpredictably to standard cleaning methods. Where the customer has failed to disclose relevant issues, such as previous flooding, infestation, adhesive failure, pet contamination or delicate fibres, liability may be excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Where we move light furniture as part of the service, this will be done only if it is reasonably safe to do so and only at your risk for items not expressly excluded by law. We may refuse to move heavy, fragile, antique, electrical or wall-fixed items. You should empty drawers, remove breakables and ensure floor access is unobstructed. We are not responsible for damage to items that were unstable, poorly assembled, already weakened or unsuitable for relocation. Any instruction to move items will be treated as your confirmation that it is safe for us to do so.

Finished carpet cleaning service with equipment and drying areaWe comply with applicable waste regulations and environmental obligations in the UK. Waste water, sludge, contaminated filters, disposable cloths and any other cleaning residues will be handled and disposed of responsibly in accordance with relevant legal requirements and accepted environmental practice. You must not ask us to dispose of hazardous waste, clinical waste, needles, bodily fluids, asbestos-containing materials or other regulated substances unless we have expressly agreed and are legally permitted to do so.

If the service generates waste that must be removed from the property, we will decide the most appropriate lawful method of handling it. You are responsible for informing us in advance if the premises contain materials or contamination that may require special disposal arrangements. If we discover hazardous or prohibited waste during the job, we may pause the work, remove our staff and equipment, and charge for time already spent, provided this is allowed by law and is reasonable in the circumstances.

You agree not to use the service to conceal damage, evidence of contamination or other material issues from a landlord, insurer, purchaser or third party. Any misuse of our work reports, invoices or service descriptions is your responsibility. If you request documentation regarding the work completed, we may provide a simple service record, but we do not guarantee that any cleaning result will satisfy a third-party standard unless that standard was expressly agreed in writing before the booking.

Complaints should be raised as soon as reasonably possible after the service so that we can inspect the issue and, where appropriate, try to resolve it. In many cases, a re-attendance, adjustment or explanation may be more practical than a refund. Any decision to offer remedial work is without prejudice to our legal rights and does not mean we accept liability. If further inspection is required, you must allow reasonable access to the relevant area and preserve the condition of the cleaned surface where possible.

We may transfer or subcontract part of the service to a suitably qualified contractor if needed for operational reasons, provided this does not materially reduce the standard of care owed to you. These terms remain binding on the customer regardless of whether the work is carried out by our staff or an approved subcontractor. You may not transfer your rights under these terms to another person without our written consent. Our rights may be assigned where permitted by law.

Each provision of these terms operates separately. If any part is found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect. No delay or failure by us to enforce a right will operate as a waiver of that right. Any waiver must be in writing to be effective. These terms, together with any written quotation or confirmation, form the entire agreement between you and us regarding the relevant service, unless a different arrangement is agreed in writing.

Nothing in these terms is intended to create a partnership, joint venture or employment relationship between you and us. We provide an independent carpet and upholstery cleaning service on a contract-for-services basis. You remain responsible for compliance with any lease, building, insurance or landlord requirements that apply to your property, including any obligation to notify others before cleaning takes place.

Governing law: These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the services provided by Brunswick Park Carpet Cleaners, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You and we agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law provides otherwise. If you are a consumer based elsewhere in the UK, any rights you have under your local mandatory laws will not be affected.
